I wanted to provide an update on the Eastleach Fete which will take place on Saturday 29th August, 1.30pm – 4pm at the Village Hall.
We have a fantastic Fete Committee this year made up of Susannah Gill, Julia McLellan, Rob Clegg, Jo Elliott and David McKenna.
With less than 12 weeks to go until the fete, we wanted to provide an update on plans for the day and ways you can support the Fete. This event remains a really important afternoon for the village where we come together as a community while raising crucial funds for the Village Hall and St Andrew’s Church.
- DOGS: The Fete Committee has worked with the Parish Council to allow dogs to attend the Fete for the first time. This is one a one year trial basis and we hope this will help boost attendance. Dogs will need to be on leads at all times and will not be allowed in the village hall or on the children’s playground.
- VOLUNTEERING: A big thank you to everyone who has come forward to offer help, particularly running the 20+ stalls providing a range of entertainment for all ages as well as delicious food and drink. There are areas where we need more help (for example on teas, produce and the Grand Draw) so please contact Susannah (scgill@hotmail.co.uk / 07751 870 929) if you can step up and help out on the day. We need your help!
- GRAND DRAW PRIZES: We now have a dozen prizes for the Grand Draw, including £100 cash, a luxury hamper, champagne and various vouchers from local businesses (please see current list below). We would welcome any other star prizes to help boost sales. If you can provide a prize, or have any contacts with people or businesses who might donate, please let Susannah know.
Finally, please look out for the flyer which will be attached to the next editions of CHEQS later this month. The flyer will set out how to donate items to stalls ahead of the fete. The Village Hall will be open each afternoon from Wednesday 26th August between 2-5pm during the week of the fete for these donations.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and please do help in any way you can – your village fete needs you!
All the best,
Susannah Gill
